ShaunCon
Miscellaneous Information
How we do things:
To schedule our events, we use a sign-up sheet and marshaling system. To play in an event, you should sign up for the event in the posted area on the sheets provided; those who pre-register will have their names preprinted on these forms. At the role playing event’s starting time, report to the marshaling area. When the name of the event is called, step forward. The marshal will then send the players and judge to the appropriate table. You must attend the marshaling; do not assume that you can get in an event simply because your name is on the form. We use the forms if too many players would like to play an event; the ones listed first then get priority. Frequently, though, we simply call off the events and send out teams of the appropriate size. We recommend that you play desired events early in the convention. As people advance to finals, events tend to get canceled later in the convention, especially on Sunday. Non-role playing event players should report to the table listed on the sign up sheet. We plan to run all events listed, but this is dependent upon player interest.
If you would like to run an event at ShaunCon, you can enter you event information using our online Event Submission form or email the informaiton to rpgkc@KCGuild.com we will arrange to have it listed on our online form and in the program book on site.
Judges and volunteers receive a $5 admission discount for each time slot they work. The maximum discount is a free admission. You receive this discount at the time of registration. Events must be submitted before the start of the convention to qualify for discounts. Events are subject to staff approval.
Miscellaneous Rules
In consideration of other gamers, smoking is not allowed in any convention area.
The selling or advertising of merchandise by unauthorized dealers within the convention areas is prohibited. If you want to sell anything to anyone, you must purchase a dealer’s table or place the item in the Gamers’ Garage Sale. This includes individual card or game sales.
Weapons are NOT allowed in the gaming areas under any circumstances. Weapons purchased from the dealers must be taken out of the convention area immediately.
All events are subject to substitution or cancellation without prior notice. We don’t plan to do this, but it is often out of our control.
Under no circumstances will anyone be allowed to play in a game without an appropriate convention badge. Spectators are welcome; please see the Registration Desk for information.

Benefit Auction
ShaunCon will be holding a benefit auction for the Harvesters, our Benefit organization for this and past conventions. Help us help those in need by attending the auction to be held Saturday at 6:00 pm. Each dollar raised can provide seven meals for the hungry in the region. Auction items will include exclusive items available nowhere else, collectible and rare items from GenCon and elsewhere, autographed and unique gaming items, and more yet to be determined.
Gamers’ Garage Sale
A returning feature at this fall’s convention, the garage sale is a gamer’s dream come true. Located with the Art Show in an adjacent room, this sale will feature items, which you, the attendees, have displayed. It will be open during the majority of the convention; hours are to be determined. To purchase items, simply browse and find what you want. Take it to the cashier, and you’re ready to go--no bidding or hassles. To sell items, you will need a GGS Registration Form, which is available on site or by sending a self- addressed, stamped envelope. Fill in your name, address, phone number on the form and include an item description and your price for each item. Prices must be in 50-cent increments. The staff will place a price and number on the item when you arrive and place it in the sale. At any time, you may check out of the GGS by picking up your unsold items and the money for the items that have been sold; picture ID will be required. Note: the Role-Players Guild of Kansas City, Ltd., (the co-host of ShaunCon) will keep a 10% commission from your total sales. That is, if the asking price for your sold items totals $25.00, you will receive $22.50, as the Guild keeps 10% ($2.50). Any items left at the end of the convention become the property of the Role-Players Guild of Kansas City, Ltd. All items are sold as-is, and the Guild takes no responsibility for any missing, damaged, or otherwise undesirable items. There is a 20-item limit per attendee, and items must be related to gaming. You must have a convention badge to sell items in the GGS.
